Jill In The News

Jill's radio career started during Liz Jeressi's vacation. She sat in a few days with Lou and held her own so well, she's now on Monday - Thursday from 10PM - 12midnight! Here's Jill's story.

I was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy (specifically Spinal Muscular Atrophy, SMA) when I was two and a half after my parents had noticed a slight tremor in my hands. This led to our relationship with the Muscular

Dystrophy Association. When I was 7 I was chosen to be the New Jersey State Goodwill Ambassador for MDA. I got the chance to travel all over the state to various fundraising events. I was also chosen to serve as Goodwill Ambassador for another year after that.My first year on the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon was also when I was 7. I opened the show in the

New York area at WWORTV and I have been on the Telethon every year since.

I have gone to countless MDA events in my life. I am now referred to as a Goodwill Ambassador. I have gotten the chance to meet several celebrities during my travels as well such as Don Mattingly, Tiki Barber, Mic Foley, Tony Orlando, and Joan Lunden. I even spent a day at the Good Morning America set.


I am fortunate enough to still be able to walk unlike most people with MD. Though I use a motorized scooter to get myself around because I get tired when I walk long distances. My friends have made a habit of taking my scooter for joyrides at parties which is half the reason it looks the way it does. The other half is me. :)

I love all kinds of music but deep down I am a rock chick. I love going to shows and positioning myself on the rail in the pit. And I have a special place in my heart for eighties music. People think that's funny considering I was born in 1982, but I know a lot more music from that time then most people my age. Probably because I have three older brothers who listened to it.
