Does American Idol Still Have the Winning Formula?

The new season of American Idol has begun and not a lot has changed, and maybe that's a good thing. First of all, thanks to Steve Jones of X Factor, many of us have a renewed appreciation for Ryan Seacrest. And let's be honest, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez are much more of a powerhouse combination than LA Reid and Nicole Scherzinger. Of course, Idol had to follow a few rejected contestants through the streets to film them cursing out the show, which I think was funny 10 seasons ago, but now it's a little old.

So, is the Idol formula going to be a winner again? I didn't think so a few weeks ago, but now I kinda do. There is someting about the show and the star power of the judges that makes me think it'll have another big season. Maybe not as big as past seasons, but still big.
