Toms River police say a 1989 Mazda white pickup truck the truck drove onto the ice of the Toms River about 12:15 a.m. Sunday morning by Gladney Avenue and was seen doing "doughnuts." The two men in the truck turned themselves in to authorities before a tragic discovery was made.


Search teams were combing the water to find the truck, however today's heavy snow made that task difficult. After help from police and fire departments around the area, they discovered the truck at 10:20 a.m.

Tragically, a dog, a boxer was discovered dead while divers searched the submerged vehicle. The truck had floated about 100 feet from shore by Motor Road in Pine Beach according to State Police.

The two occupants of the vehicle were, Andrew Mayer, 27, of Toms River, and the driver, Daniel Jolly, 25, of Toms River. No charges have been filed as of yet and the investigation is still on-going.
