If you have a bag of spinach in the fridge, be sure to check it before you eat it!

A potential salmonella risk has launched a recall in several states across the country, including New Jersey.

The recall was issued by Dole, and applies to Dole Spinach with an "Enjoy By" date of October 15 and UPC code 7143000976, with product codes A27409B and A27409A.

You'll find both the "Enjoy By" date and product code on the upper right hand corner of the front of the bag.

It's important to note that the baby spinach and other bagged salads are NOT affected by this recall. Additionally, no illnesses have been reported in association with this recall.

The products were sold in stores from NJ, as well as stores in NY, PA, CT, and 9 other states.

If you have one of the recalled products, you should dispose of it. Anyone with questions can call the Dole Food Company Consumer Response Center at (800) 356-3111, open Monday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
