Don't you think somebody would have thought to make National Chocolate Ice Cream Day in March or April so we could hide the results of our celebration under a sweater or at least a loose shirt? Well, it didn't work out that way, so Happy National Chocolate Ice Cream Day!

I found some little known chocolate ice cream facts at inquisitr.com. Thomas Jefferson gets credit from many historians as introducing chocolate ice cream to America (no, we didn't invent it). If you can't get enough ice cream then you should have been in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1988, when they made the world's largest ice cream sundae, weighing in at 24 tons, and vanilla ice cream is, by far, more popular than chocolate here in the U.S.

I know many of us are dieting around the Jersey shore, myself included, but I guess it would be ok to have just a little chocolate ice cream today. After all, we don't want to disrespect a holiday, do we?
