We all know it's not easy to be a commuter in the Garden State, but when you see some of the statistics it may make you feel even worse.

Here are some stats about New Jersey driving which places us in the bottom 5 of states in the nation for drivers, according to csmonitor.com.  The average Garden State commute is nearly 28 minutes one way. That's an hour a day just getting to and from work.

Insurance premiums average over $1200 a year, we spend nearly $1000 a year on gas, and we spend over $400 for auto repairs on average for each repair. also add to those sobering numbers the fact that there are 154 stolen cars per 100,000 people.

The only states worse than New Jersey in this study were Maryland, Texas, California, and Louisiana which was the lowest ranking state in the study.

Here's the thing about driving in New Jersey. We're kind of used to it and all the challenges it presents to our day and our overall happiness. if you're from New Jersey, you get it. You don't love the way things are on the roads, but you deal with it.

For many of us, the benefits of living at the Jersey Shore outweigh the negatives. Except maybe that guy who gave you the finger and then cut you off this morning.
