A specific DWI checkpoint will be set up at the Jersey Shore tonight, but unsafe drivers across the area, beware, that's not the only place cops will be looking for you.

From 11 p.m. tonight, Friday, August 21st through 3 a.m. Saturday, August 22nd, the Monmouth County DWI Task Force will set up a checkpoint on Rt. 36 in Keansburg. Westbound (northbound) drivers will have to pull into the Family Dollar parking lot at Main St./Palmer Ave.

Cops are not only looking for drivers under the influence, but any unsafe driver -- so buckle up, and put the phone down while you're at it!

Today also kicks off the 2015 "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign, and plenty of local municipalities received grants to allow extra patrols and checkpoints. State Police will also join the campaign, which runs through September 7th, stepping up their efforts to stop intoxicated drivers from hitting the roads.

With so many other options for getting around, it's not worth the risk of driving drunk. Call a cab, get an Uber, take the bus or train, ask a friend to be DD...just don't take the risk of hurting yourself or someone else by driving under the influence.

Have a safe weekend!
