I have to admit that I am very excited for this event that will be coming up in April. So yes, I am definitely going.

The famous legal clerk and environmental activist Erin Brockovich will be at Ocean County College coming up on April 12th at 7:00 pm.

If you need a refresher on who Brockovich is, just watch the award-winning movie “Erin Brockovich” directed by Steven Soderbergh.

Brockovich brought down one of the biggest companies in the country, Pacific Gas and Electric, after the company was alleged to be using Hexavalent Chromium that in turn poisoned over a thousand people in and around the town of Hinkley, California.

Brockovich was a legal clerk in 1993 when she and her boss, lawyer Edward Masry, started investigating the symptoms of some of the residents in Hinckley and attributed it to the Hexavalent Chromium use by PSE&G. The case ultimately went to arbitration and was settled for $333 million.

Today, Brockovich is the president of Brockovich Research & Consulting where she is involved in numerous environmental projects throughout the globe.
