Events at the Jersey Shore This Weekend
As we get ready for another great summer weekend, here are a sampling of some of the events taking place this weekend.
The annual Fireman’s Fair continues Friday and Saturday night in Manasquan, 6 – 10 p.m. Rides, games, food, music, and a beer tent. www.manasquanfair.com
The Beach Bash brought to you by the Ocean County Department of Parks and Recreation takes place at Berkeley Island Park in Bayville Friday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Campfires, sandcastle building, games, music, marshmallow roasting and more.
Celebrate the Art of Surfing Friday and Saturday at the 12th annual festival at the Ocean City Music Pier. The festival features surf art on display and for sale, live music, a chance to meet artists, classic surfboards, memorabilia and more. Free admission. Festival is open noon to ten p.m.
The famed rider of Triple Crown winner Secretariat will be signing memorabilia at Monmouth Park in Oceanport starting at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Ron Turcotte is raising money for jockeys’ charities. For more information, visit www.monmouthpark.com/.
The Historic Village at Allaire State Park in Wall Township will host the seventh annual Ducky Derby at 1 p.m. Saturday. Children can race rubber ducks for prizes, with proceeds from the $3 per duck price going toward educational programs at the Village. Face painting and other activities, too. www.allairevillage.org
