The relatively small borough of Fair Haven will honor Olympic medal-winning swimmer Connor Jaeger tonight during a ceremony at the Fair Haven Firehouse at 645 River Road from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.

The 25-year old Fair Haven native won a silver medal in the Men’s 1500 freestyle at the Olympics in Rio earlier this month following a sixth place finish in the same event four years ago in London.

Jaeger was an All-State swimmer at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School (Class of 2010) and then a three-time All-American at the University of Michigan.

According to Parks & Recreation Director D.J. Breckenridge tonight’s meet and greet will allow Fair Haven residents and others to get autographs and pose for pictures with Jaeger (and his silver medal).

Tonight’s ceremony is part of the annual Fair Haven Fire Company Firemen’s Fair which runs through Saturday.
