Fair Lawn Woman Sues Over Use Of Breast Feeding Video

A Fair Lawn woman who wanted to share “the most rewarding thing I had ever done in my life” by way of an educational video about breast feeding is suing because it wound up on a porn site.

MaryAnn Sahoury of Fair Lawn told WNBC TV she was assured by the company that made the video it only be used for educational purposes. Another video company, however, took the video off YouTube and manipulated the footage as part of an adult video.  “I was sick to my stomach,” said Sahoury. “I didn’t know what I was going to do. I just felt so paralyzed.”

Sahoury’s last name was used in the video; she was told that only her first name would be used.

A judge ruled last week her case against the producer from Meredith Video Studios can move forward.

In a statement, Meredith says they went beyond their contract to track down the source of the adult video.

“Meredith was appalled to learn someone misused a video meant to help new mothers. We took immediate action, hiring leading law firms and online specialists to file take-down demands, clear online caches and create positive references. We took these actions even though Ms. Sahoury signed a release authorizing use of the video across all media platforms, and holding Meredith harmless for any potential misuse of the video by a third party.”
