This place is awesome! Here are all the details.

Friday evening my son joined in an Open Mic Night at the hottest new coffee shop to hit our area in a while. It's called HomeGrown and I am super impressed with the quality of their coffee and the laid-back, surfer-themed atmosphere.

This is just the kind of new, local-owned coffee shop that we needed around here! It's called HomeGrown and it is right off of Main Street in Manasquan, just behind Main Scoop ice cream and across from Remington's restaurant.  (Their official address is 140 Main St., Manasquan.)

This coffee bar has the most delicious coffee smoothies I have ever tried. And no wonder! They pride themselves on using organic, fresh, locally-roasted coffee beans and ingredients. Everything is made fresh to order, from their Acai bowls full of fresh fruits, to their coffees (hot and cold, dark and mild, espressos, etc.) to their sandwiches and waffles.

They are open from 9 - 5 Tuesdays through Sundays (closed Mondays) and then, on some Friday nights and other times during the months, they host open-mic nights starting in the evenings to support local talent and provide great entertainment for the community.

The atmosphere is fantastic and laid back, with indoor and outdoor seating, free Wifi, and plenty of places to plug in.

They also have some great gift options available for sale...you have to stop in to see everything (and try everything!)

They also hold occasional Waffle Snob Saturdays with guest chef J-Macc, aka "The Waffle Snob", who has been perfecting one-of-a-kind authentic yeast-risen Belgian waffles for many years.

I can't say enough good things about this coffee house. As they like to say, their coffee and food is fresh, healthy, and delicious. No grease...no fat...just good. (Organic teas are also offered on the menu, too!)

And, as it says on their website, "Stop by and see what a laid-back roast can do to your day." And their service and staff are really great, too!

In case you want to try what try what we had, the Iced Coconut Mocha Macchiatto (me) and the Peanut Butter Espresso Smoothie (Ben) were to die for!
