Investigators are tracing the source of a fire at Buy Rite Liqours on Route 9 in the Waretown section of Ocean Township on Sunday night.

Ocean Township Police sent out an alert around 11:30 pm asking people to avoid the area so crews could douse the flames.

This was about a half-hour after crews from the Waretown Volunteer Fire Company say they were dispatched to the structure fire.

No injuries are being reported from the fire.

The fire chief found a large exterior fire that spread into the buildings attic via the eves.

Waretown fire crews approached the blaze aggressively inside and out and were met with heavy heat on the second floor of the 9,000 square foot building.

They needed more "man power" to fight the fire and that's when Forked River, Barnegat, Stafford, Pine Beach and Lonoka Harbor crews arrived on the scene.

Two FAST Teams from Toms River and Bayville were also on the scene.

FAST Teams are dedicated teams that are responsible for rescuing other fire fighter in the event thing go bad.

They are not used to fight the actual fire and are only dedicated to fire fighter rescue and they can not be from the town that the fire takes place in.

"We want to thank all ems agency’s coverage companies and police departments for their help," Waretown Volunteer Fire Company officials said on Facebook.
