Fire at Keansburg Amusement Park’s Gravitron ride
A fire broke out on the Gravitron ride at Keansburg Amusement Park destroying the amusement.
Katie Johnson, Marketing Director for the park says a small electrical fire broke out as a worker was testing the Gravitron before the park opened for the day. No one was on the ride at the time and the fire, which was contained to the one ride, was extinguished quickly.
Photos from the scene show black plumes of smoke rising into the air.
Keansburg fire chief James Pigott told Middletown Patch the inside of the ride was gutted.

Keansburg Amusement Park was built in 1904 and suffered considerable damage from Superstorm Sandy in 2012.
