Did you notice an abnormally large amount of flies buzzing around the beaches of Monmouth County this week?

Well don't worry because you were not the only one.

Black flies swarmed Monmouth County borough's beaches and the large amount is because of the two-day heat wave and winds blowing toward the ocean.

This is not a common occurrence and hopefully with Friday and Saturday's forecast being cooler with clouds and rain in the mix, the flies will clear the air.

But until we give the thumbs up, you may want to keep bug spray on you at all times.
