Our Point Pet of the Week is being called Kiefer and is now available for adoption.

The Monmouth County SPCA says this precious dog was a lost stray. He looks to be between one and two years old and is most likely a terrier mix. This means he is both young and smart!

Kiefer loves to play and has lots of puppy-like energy. Just about any toy will do, be it a ball to play fetch with or a rope for a little game of tug. This dog can play for hours!

Keifer already knows a few commands like 'sit', 'down', and 'come'. He will gladly learn for treats which makes him easy to train. He likes other dogs, so if you have a dog that has a rough-and-tumble-type of play personality like Kiefer, you should bring him for a play date to the MCSPCA and see if the two hit it off and you can then bring home Kiefer so that your dog has a new playmate for life!

Also, on Wednesday, June 8th, the MCSPCA will be celebrating National Best Friends Night from 5 pm to 7 pm with a special guest -- Senator Raymond Lesniak, a true leader for animal advocacy.

There will be adoption specials for any residence pet who has been at the shelter for more than 60 days' time. Bring the family and visit the face painter, balloon artist, and have your pet receive an animal blessing by the chaplin. Professional photography will be available for adopters and their new best friend. Plus, every adopter will be entered for a chance to win a vacation!

This even kicks off the MCSPCA Late Night Wednesdays. That means that every Wednesday night they'll stay open 'til 7 pm!

So don't be lonely. Come find your new best friend!
