Free Wi-Fi Comes to Asbury Park Beaches

It's one of the largest free outdoor Wifi Networks in our state!

Boardwalk redeveloper Madison Marquette and the City of Asbury Park have come together to create free public Wi-Fi -- one of the largest continuous free outdoor public wireless beach networks in the Garden State.

The free Wi-Fi will be available to all residents and visitors to the beach and boardwalk. Up and running and in testing since last October, the Wi-Fi is now ready for the summer season!

The Wi-Fi network will extend continuously over 10 city blocks, from the beginning of the boardwalk on Asbury Avenue to the end of the boardwalk on Deal Lake Drive. It will reach iin some areas to within 50 feet of the water's edge. That's nearly a mile of free outdoor public wireless access!

Connecting is simple: Just look up "AP Boardwalk" on your device, laptop, notebook, or cell phone's wireless network list. Click "AP Boardwalk" and you will be prompted through an easy one-step sign-up. Then check your email. You can also log in using Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, or Twitter.

The free public network is funded through a generous donation from the Asbury Park Deputy Mayor's Office and Madison Marquette to advance the city's community outreach. As Asbury attracts more visitors than ever before, this is great news that will help support local businesses, as those visiting the beach can search for Asbury Park events, attractions, shops and restaurants to visit while they're in the area.

As security is always important, the Wi-Fi features have an Https system which allows the secure exchange of files. Also, staying logged into accounts when using public Wi-Fi could potentially allow others to access the info, so the AP Boardwalk Wi-Fi has taken the extra step to have users sign in each time and automatically logs you out after 24 hours.

So now you can conduct business on your laptop and your kids can do their school work while you hang with us every Friday morning for the Lou and Liz Show!
