Back in February, I told you to keep an eye on Freehold's Michelle Fitzgerald because something big was coming her way. Boy did it.

Michelle won season 32 of CBS's Survivor and earned one million dollars. The former Freehold bartender was part of the original "beauty tribe" in Cambodia and was able to outwit, outlast and outplay the other contestants.

Set in Cambodia, Michelle told the APP that the best way to describe the experience was "big personalities, tough conditions, and intense stress." A long time fan of the show (she's watched every single episode), her plan, or strategy was to make connections and really get to know people.

Michelle said what may have been the most difficult part of the experience was not knowing whether she won or not for a year, calling it "torturous." She, like others, had to go on with their lives having no idea what the outcome of season 32 would bring.

When asked what she plans to do with the million, Michelle said she wants to pay off her car, sip wine in Napa Valley and start saving.

Congrats to Monmouth County's own Michelle Fitzgerald, the sole Survivor!
