Funny but Shocking Tweets About Snooki’s New Baby [OPINION]

Jersey Shore's Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi welcomed 6 pound 5 oz. Lorenzo LaValle just before 3 a.m. on Sunday in Livingston. Snooki and JWoww are currently filming their spinoff in Manchester.

As you can imagine, the birth is the number one trend virtually everywhere and Twitter is no exception. One quick search of #Snooki resulted in thousands of tweets. Many of the 140 characters are funny, but very harsh.

"I don't care" is common feedback by our listeners whenever we mention Snooki or "Jersey Shore," even when we poke fun. However, the popularity of "Jersey Shore" themed articles on our site prove differently.

Like many of you, I don't like the show, the people on it and the concept as a whole. There is "Jersey Shore" overload. But, like it or not, Snooki and the crew have become a part of pop culture. Unfortunately, where we live has been attached.

I'm a big believer of the theory that if you are in the spotlight and especially if you are famous for doing and saying ridiculous things, you have to be open to criticism. Sure, some of that criticism is downright cruel, but that's the life you chose.

I never thought I would say this, but after reading some of the tweets you're about to see, I think Snooki deserves a pass on this latest chapter of her life.  So we're not fans, but lets be decent human beings and let a fellow human being enjoy the beginning of motherhood. Who knows? Maybe being a mom will change the way Snooki acts.
