NJ residents who have Verizon Fios may experience a big void in their entertainment come January 1.

Not only may ESPN go away, but add Disney, and your local ABC stations to the list as well.

Verizon and Disney are currently negotiating. The standoff story is the same. Disney is demanding that Verizon pay more money to carry their programming. Verizon is saying:

The rising cost of programming is the biggest factor in higher TV bills, and we are standing up to networks like Disney, refusing to accept these huge increases.

Timing is everything as ESPN is set to air college and NFL playoff games in January.

In a world where more people are "cutting the cord" than ever, it's making life for cable companies so much more difficult.
