My first real exposure to the Ashley Lauren Foundation was at the Giants practice facility where I saw the Foundation give New Jersey kids battling cancer a chance to meet their favorite football heroes, including Eli Manning. It was amazing to see their faces, and it was there I first met Mark Levine. Mark was a young boy who had passion for many things, including burgers. I was also fortunate enough to be there when the Foundation was able to grant his wish of meeting Bobby Flay.

The Ashley Lauren Foundation is an amazing group that works tirelessly to help kids in New Jersey with cancer and their families. Mark lost his battle in May 2010. When The Point's Matt Ryan heard Mark's story and his love for burgers, he had an amazing idea (read the full story). So he called his friends at 709 in Point Pleasant and asked them to make the burger that Mark created..the "Mark the Shark Burger". They loved the idea and today you can get the "Mark The Shark Burger" there  with proceeds going to the Ashley Lauren Foundation. It's the only special on the menu today! Call ahead and reserve your place! It's a great event, and we'd love you to be a part of it!
