Happy Nurses Week!

I had the pleasure of personally thanking some wonderful nurses yesterday!

For many years now, I have been 'having lunch' with the nurses and staff at Monmouth Medical Center for Nurses Appreciation Week.

The Point likes to bring flowers and cake and prizes....and say thank you to all of the nurses that work so hard here and everywhere to take care of our family members and friends in time of need.

I was also extra blessed yesterday when a nurse came up to me to tell me she was the one who helped me recover after a surgery I had there almost ten years ago! It felt so good to be able to hug her and tell her it meant the world to me to have someone by my side to make sure I was okay after the fear and lonliness of being wheeled out of surgery all by yourself.

I met so many pediatric nurses and ICU nurses and many, many more and was grateful for the opportunity to say thanks.

I would also like to say thanks to all of the school nurses that take care of our kids every time they have a problem at school!

And a special thanks to all of those labor and delivery nurses, too, that have helped so many of us moms through our contractions, lol! Calm in the face of pain! And then taking the best of care and time to help us with our newborns!
