There's a new name but the care will remain the same as HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Toms River becomes Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital beginning January 1, 2019.

The change comes in lieu of the company itself re branding and changing its name as well.

Officials say it will continue "to provide the same high-quality, post-acute care for patients overcoming a variety of major illnesses and injuries."

“Our new Encompass Health brand reflects more than the change of our name. It reinforces our commitment to working together to continuously improve the care we provide our patients,” Patty Ostaszewski, CEO of Encompass Health Toms River said. “With a focus on clinical collaboration and strengthening relationships, we will continue to play an important role in making a difference in the lives of our patients.”

The Birmingham, Alabama-based HealthSouth Corporation launched its new name and brand on January 1 of this year and they will be transitioning its 130 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and 273 home health and hospice locations serving 36 states and Puerto Rico through 2019.

All of the Company’s post-acute care service locations in New Jersey will migrate to the Encompass Health name and brand starting in just a couple of weeks.

As it stands today, HealthSouth Toms River, which is located at 14 Hospital Drive, has 98-beds for inpatient rehabilitation that offers comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services.

Encompass Health offers similar care in both facility-based and home-based patient care through its network of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, home health agencies and hospice agencies.

They reach across the country as well establishing 130 hospitals and 273 home health & hospice locations in 36 states and Puerto Rico.

Encompass Health is the combination of HealthSouth Corporation and Encompass Home Health & Hospice.
