You are invited to Bar A this evening in honor of  beloved Neptune man who lost his legs and vision after coming home from a tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Scott Nokes is an inspiration. This man does NOT feel sorry for himself. He has served our country and, locally, as a fire fighter in Shark River Hills for many years. (In fact, you can still find him at the fire house quite often!)

Scott attended Neptune High School and was a Corporal in the Marines. When he came back from his tours in Afghanistan he had a severe case of dysentery which left him in a coma and, ultimately, took his legs and eye sight.

Monmouth County's Kathy Cunningham, who created Team Shamrock in honor of the brother she lost in the September 11th attacks and now raises money for others in need, is making it her mission to help get Scott Nokes a smart home in Howell that will allow him to live independently.

Please come to Bar A this evening to celebrate Scott and help Team Shamrock raise the money to get this home built for Scott. The goal is to have him walk in the door of his own home by the end of this year.

"Sham-Rocking the Grotto" is from 6 - 10 tonight at Bar Anticipation (16th Ave. in Lake Como), featuring special guest Bobby Bandiera and The Snakes, plus a free BBQ, drink specials and a gift auction. Tickets are $35 at the door.

Team Shamrock raises money for the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation which is committed to building custom-designed, mortgage-free smart homes for catastrophically injured service members like Scott Nokes. (Your donations are tax-deductible.)

If you can't make it tonight but would like to make a donation to this worthy cause or join Kathy's team for the Tunnel to Tower 5K Walk/Run this September in NYC in honor of military vets in need, CLICK HERE!

I had the pleasure of speaking with Scott recently when I ran into him and he is just an incredible person to talk to and a real inspiration and hero. Hopefully, Scott, you will stop by our Asbury Park Boardwalk Studio one Friday morning soon so that we can chat with you on the air and all of our listeners can get to know you!
