Residents in and around the joint base can expect to hear loud "booms," maybe even experience some ground-shaking, as Marines conduct training at the Dix ranges this weekend.

The 87th Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordnance Disposal will conduct demolitions training Saturday and Sunday.  Members of Golf Battery and India Battery of the 3rd Battalion 14th Marine Regiment are scheduled to conduct day and night firing training both day as well.

The training is scheduled to end by 11 p.m. each training day.

Joint Base personnel say the training is essential and helps to ensure the readiness of America's fighting force.

They also warn noise from the ranges may travel farther during overcast weather conditions.

Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst says they work hard to minimize the impact training has on its surrounding communities and is committed to remaining good neighbors.
