Hilarious Dad's Response to Magic's 'Rude' [VIDEO]

The song 'Rude' by Magic! is everywhere, and one singing dad took the time to craft a hilarious response in a video that's since gone viral.

On the off chance you don't understand what the song is about, it's basically a reggae song about a guy whining that his girlfriend's dad doesn't approve of their getting married.

Just the other day, Duzzy and I were watching Magic! perform their hit song on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and suddenly Duzzy turns into a crotchety old man and says, "Ya know, maybe there's a reason the dad said, 'No!'"

Then, as if the universe heard him, I stumbled upon this video.

The response is called 'RUDE (The Dad's Side of the Story)' performed by professional musicians Benji and Jenna Cowart. It's been viewed more than a million times. And it makes me giggle.

Some of my favorite lyrics?

'Seeking permission to marry my princess/Son, what's wrong with your big head?/It's the first I've met you/Why would I let you run off with my baby girl?/Get back in your pinto, it's time that you go...'

'This is forever/She deserves better/She really needs a grown man'

It gets a little dark, with the Dad talking about how he'd make the guy 'go away at the bottom of a lake' and do 'hard time' to keep the guy away from his daughter.

(Before you type your hate mail, I'm not advocating violence. I'm just appreciating the 'Protective Daddy' vibe.)

I'm pretty sure any good dad with a daughter will appreciate this video for what it is: An expression of a father trying to keep his little girl safe, no matter how old she is!
