Hometown Heroes, the nonprofit organization formed to help families in need at the Jersey Shore, now needs your help.

The charity suffered a devastating loss this week after a fire destroyed its offices on Washington Street in Toms River. Two years ago, their other building was lost in a separate fire in a different location.

Founded in 2008, the organization was chosen to lead the Restore the Shore Hurricane Sandy relief effort, and helped residents pay bills, replace furniture, and other needs. Additionally, Hometown Heroes provides  food for the elderly, assistance for new mothers, help to residents facing disability and homelessness—and, in 2009, provided an expenses-paid funeral to the family of a woman killed in a house fire.
