Although she was with the same family since she was a puppy, our Point Pet of the Week was surrendered to a shelter when her family had to move.

It is such a sad story, yet we hear about it time and time again: a family, for whatever their reason, has to give up their dog when they move.

In this case, Honey needs a new home. This beautiful 6-year old was a great family pet, which makes it even sadder that her family had to give her up.

She appears to be either some kind of a Sighthound breed since her lean body resembles that of a Greyhound, or she may even have some Terrier in her.

Honey can be a little shy when you first meet her but once she gets to know you she will be your best friend forever. She enjoys long walks with her favorite human friends and gets excited as soon as she sees them coming.

Honey also likes to sit and snuggle with her human friends and climb into their laps. She is just a gentle, sweet girl who would do best in a quiet environment. She is still very young at heart and likes to play. Tennis balls and squeaky toys are her favorite!

If you would like to meet Honey please come to the Monmouth County SPCA's Eatontown location. (CLOSED TUESDAYS). For more info, call 732-542-4552 or email adoptions@monmouthcountyspca.org. Don't pass up the chance to meet this special girl!

Also Red Rock in Red Bank will be hosting Tails & Ales to benefit the MCSPCA. The event is on Sunday, July 16th, 2 - 4 pm, 14 Wharf Ave., Red Bank. This is a dog friendly adoption event so bring your dog and enjoy the festivities. Receive a pint with your $10 donation, with proceeds going to the MCSPCA.
