How Healthy are Monmouth and Ocean Counties?

Do you think Monmouth county is healthier than Ocean or vice versa? How do we stack up against other counties in NJ? Let's check it out.

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has a site called countyhealthrakings.org. It breaks the state down county by county and provides information on how to be healthier.

According to their 2015 findings, Monmouth county ranked 6th in the state and Ocean was 8th out of the 21 counties.

The criteria for these finding were based on length of life, quality of life, health behaviors, social and economic factors and physical environment.

Hunterdon county in northwest NJ was ranked the healthiest, while Cumberland in South Jersey was last on the list. Monmouth and Ocean fell in the mid to upper part of the rankings.

As with most things, money and access to resources made a big difference.
