We have all done it. Singing in the shower, or belting out our favorite tune. But how many of us really think we are good singers?

According to a survey reported at correlated.org, 43% of us think we are actually good singers, but that can't be right can it? Can nearly half the people we come across in the course of a normal day know how to sing.

I mean, I don't even think half the people who go on The Voice or American Idol are good singers. And they're singing in front of a national audience. If I had to make an educated guess, I would say 20% of the people I know are good singers, and that's being generous.

For the record, I am a horrible singer, but I don't think being a bad singer should stop anyone. Go ahead, sing! Just don't make the leap to thinking you should have a record deal.

Liz sang on the show recently, and it wasn't bad, But Blake Shelton never called in to beg her to be on his team. But as long as she's having fun, then sing away. At least she had the guts to do it out loud!

A report at cnn.com actually took a scientific approach, talking about something called metacognition, which, according to psychologists is the ability to evaluate your self objectivity. If you lack metacognition, you may perceive yourself as a godd singer even if you're not.
