How Warm Does It Get At The Jersey Shore And For How Long?

The Jersey Shore weather roller coaster continues it's steep plummets and sharp rises on a 2019 ride that should make Great Adventure jealous.

You are not imagining the fact that you were living through an arctic nightmare at the Jersey Shore just a week ago. Yes, you were bundling up to battle wind chills of 15 below, and yes, you were letting your faucets drip to avoid frozen pipes.

Fast forward to the next turn on our Jersey Shore winter weather ride and welcome to a week that will feature a day that could reach the mid 60's. Yes, that's about an 80 degree swing. The only thing left to do is come up with a catchy name for this ride.

So exactly what's in store for us? Well, I guess it's nothing short of a little slice of spring, according to our Chief Meteorologist Dan Zarrow, who says we will approach 60 today (Tuesday), and then after a 'temporary cool' on Wednesday and Thursday, we're right back up to the mid 60's on Friday.

By the way, the temperatures are expected to return to the 30's for daytime highs over the weekend, so the warmth won't last as long as most of us would like it to.

So I guess the question is, does this week make up for last week? Are we willing to put up with a vortex in order to hit 60 degrees at a date to be named later? I can't speak for everyone, but I vote yes and here's why.

This time of year, there's always a chance of a brutal cold spell like we had last week, so we might as well get something out of it. Don't get me wrong, my vote is for no vortex at all, but if we can't get that, then I'm ready for the roller coaster ride.

So if this winter's weather was a ride at Great Adventure, what would you call it? How about The Vortex, or maybe Arctic Heat. We could always go with The Polar Plunge or The Extreme Shifter.
