Their No-Shave November initiative at crowdrise.com raises money for treatment and research at Centrastate Health in neighboring Freehold.

Uniformed officers, detectives, and even Chief Andrew Kurdick are looking hirsute, with retro 'staches and lumberjack beards, and bearing up well under the inevitable itch.

Each donor who contributes $50 gets a special invitation to the December unveiling of Howell PD's first-ever, custom-painted, cancer-fighting cruiser, and to autograph the car personally in honor of someone else.

The car will be a prominent feature at Howell Township Police Department community events. Be sure to bring your receipt or e-mailed confirmation of your donation in order to sign the Cancer-Fighter.

Donations can be pledged here. You can also visit them on Facebook.
