According to township police, Dematera was living out of her car locally, mainly in the Freehold area before she disappeared.

On January 17, New Jersey State Police located Dematera’s vehicle at the Thomas Edison Service Area on the NJ Turnpike in Woodbridge, but were unable to locate the woman after a search.

In an email, Detective Sgt. Eileen Dodd of the Howell Township Police Department said:

There is no reason to believe she is in danger. A friend was concerned when she could not locate her. We simply want to make sure that she is OK.

Anyone who encounters Dematera or knows of her whereabouts is asked to contact Det. Scott Revilak of the Howell Township Police Department at 732-938-4575 X 2876.
