Is Jersey Shore Really Bad For the Jersey Shore?

I have spoken to retailers and residents alike about the impact  Jersey Shore has on our Jersey Shore, and it's amazing how split people are about it. Those who don't like it have told me it doesn't represent what the shore is really about, and those who like it say it's all in good fun and is simply a guilty pleasure. It's pretty much the same story with retailers affected by the filming.

Some store owners say the distraction hurts. Others say it's been great for business. In other Jersey Shore news, according to Examiner.com, someone is claiming they pitched MTV the idea two years before the show debuted. So, what do you think? Is Jersey Shore good or bad for the shore?
