One of the landmarks in Asbury Park is the Stephen Crane House, home of the author of The Red Badge of Courage. But is it haunted?

According to hauntedplaces.org, there have been reports of people hearing the sounds of kids playing or even crying, and even reports of some feisty ghosts messing around with fireplace tools.

And according to a dailyrecord.com article, there is a bit of a history of bottles of scotch being emptied, but never actually being opened, and sometimes the bottle would still be in a gift box. Now that's a little creepy!

So, the rumors are definitely out there, but who knows for sure. Sometimes the stories are bigger than the truth, but I guess sometimes they are the truth, too  right? add The Stephen Crane House to the list of rumored haunted places at the Jersey Shore.
