After a bit of controversy on the Lou and Liz morning show, we have come to a conclusion.

A listener recently asked us if a flip flop is only a flip flop without a strap on the back.

Lou Russo says that it is, indeed, only a flip flop (to him) if it doesn't have a strap on the back. After all, it's gotta make 'that noise' when it's slapping against your heel. Anything with a strap on the back, he thinks, should be called a sandal.

Others disagree, saying that as long as there is something between your two toes, then it's a flip flop, and not a sandal, even if it has a strap on the back.

So I have come up with my own term for my flip flops-with-straps on the back: Flandals. Get it? A combo flip flop and sandal. I think it's quite catchy : )
