The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued an Air Quality Alert for Monmouth and Ocean Counties for today.

The New Jersey DEP has set the alert at Code Orange, meaning that air pollution concentrations in our area might be unhealthy for children, asthma sufferers, the elderly, and those with heart or lung disease, according to accuweather.com.

The state DEP suggests that to minimize the effects of today's air quality, you should stay indoors as often as possible and limit strenuous activity. You can get more information at airnow.gov.
