We write a lot about store and restaurant closings and openings here. It's usually followed up by a discussion about which chains we'd like to see in Monmouth & Ocean Counties. The number one request by far is a Cracker Barrel. There are lots of rumors about one of the restaurants popping up in our area, and now we have an official word for you.

My colleague at our sister station, 92.7 WOBM, Justin Louis reached out to Cracker Barrel corporate directly and got this response:

We're always considering opportunities for new locations, but we have no announcements to make at this time about opening a new store in Ocean County, New Jersey. I'll be sure to let you know if that changes any time in the near future.

So, it's a no-go...for now. That doesn't mean we can't make our voices heard though. Follow this link to contact Cracker Barrel directly.

If you've never been to a Cracker Barrel, I think the Shore would benefit from one. Sure, it's a chain, but it's different. Their homestyle southern cuisine is really very good.
