The ex-boyfriend of a former Brick Township resident is suspected of killing 27-year old Megan Brown, her parents and her new boyfriend in Florida. Megan and Adam Matos had a 4-year old son together. He reportedly has not yet been charged with the murders but is being held on aggravated assault in a separate case for allegedly holding a knife to Megan's throat last month.

A woman found dead in a makeshift tent in Lakewood Saturday night is identified as 38-year old Yolanda Kelly of N.Y. Authorities say the circumstances are suspicious, pending an autopsy. The woman was a former Lakewood resident and had been visiting friends.

Lakewood police identify a township man who took his own life at the Shore Shot Pistol Range on Airport Road Saturday night. 30-year old Anatoli Yankiver shot himself in the chest. It's believed to be the second suicide at the range.

A retired Aberdeen cop is charged with stalking and threatening Aberdeen Police Chief John Powers. 66-year old Christian Witzig of Keansburg was held on $100,000 bail. The complaint quotes him as saying, "I know I am going to die, but he is going to die first." Witzig allegedly made alarming and threatening statements to Powers and his family on more than five occasions.

A water taxi carrying 22 people ran aground in the Manasquan River near Treasure Island early yesterday. No one was seriously injured, but one person was taken to the hospital. Coast Guard officials say the captain passed a breathalyzer and that the boat did not have any safety violations.

The Glimmer Glass Bridge connecting Manasquan and Brielle closed recently from damage by an overweight truck and may now have to be replaced. Reports say a new span could cost between $20 and $30 million in state and federal funds. The bridge also would lose its national historic status.

A federal project to replenish protective dunes in Ortley Beach and the northern beaches of Toms River will begin in about six months. The Toms River mayor says part of the hold-up was due to some homeowners refusing to sign over easements.
