So, everyone knows by now today is going to be an unseasonably warm day at the Jersey Shore, and it's exactly what summer lovers have been waiting for. But just how unseasonably warm will it be?

The answer is pretty impressive. It will be warmer today than it's ever been on this date at the Jersey Shore in the history of recorded temperatures, if the forecast is on the mark, of course.

Our meteorologist Dan Zarrow researched the highest temperature recorded on this date at the Long Branch weather station, and he found that today's record high is 71 degrees for this date.

Dan predicted early in the week that we'd reach at least 72 today, and since his updated forecast for today has a high of 72 or 73, it looks like we'll be experiencing a little weather history today at the Jersey Shore.

It will be a little cooler at the beaches today (somewhere in the mid 60's) but who's complaining? Not me!
