It's one of the best ways to try out area restaurants you might not normally get to...Jersey Shore Restaurant Week is back until November 13th!

For Monmouth and Ocean County 'foodies' like myself, this event is never long enough, but for those who always wanted to try a new restaurant but thought it was too pricey, this week is perfectly delicious.

Jersey Shore Restaurant Week allows local restaurants to create a 'prix fixe' menu (three courses) for either $20.11 or $30.11. The only requirement is that each restaurant's 'prix fixe' menu must provide three selections each of an appetizer, entree, and dessert.

Last night I went to participating restaurant Brandl in Belmar (one of my absolute favorite restaurants) and got a balsamic, fig, and goat cheese flatbread pizza, pan-fried chicken with butternut squash risotto, and a caramel apple tarte. My friend got a butternut squash puree with sugar spiced popcorn, prosciutto-wrapped cod, and a small chocolate souffle. We always try each other's selections, and I can assure you that every bite was incredible.

I'm hoping to fit in a stop at 709 Point Beach and David Burke's Fromagerie before Restaurant Week is over...it's an incredible chance to get a great deal at local restaurants!! For a list of participating restaurants (and menus!) click here.
