So why are they smiling?

They're doing it for Joe Leone himself...and for Covenant House, a cause near and dear to Joe Leone.

Last year Joe slept on the Asbury Park boardwalk in a cardboard box for the night to see how it feels to be homeless and in need. He continued to sleep in that box in front of his own store in Point Pleasant Beach until he raised as much money as he could.

His efforts and fundraising helped build the Rights of Passage transitional home in Asbury Park. And Covenant House is a cause that remains close to his heart.

This year, Joe is recovering from some health issues, so his management team wants to continue to do what he would have done if he could have. Elizabeth, Anthony, Cathy, John, Allison, and Niki will be sleeping on the streets of Asbury Park tonight, May 11th, in sleeping bags in front of Covenant House to draw attention to the plight of those with no place to go.

Nearly 2,000 homeless kids turn to Covenant House for help each night. More than 51,000 homeless kids will turn to Covenant House for help this year. That's why brave individuals like the Joe Leone team are doing something about it. They're spending a night outside with no shelter so that, eventually, no kid will have to.

You can help these children by making a donation to the Joe Leone team's fundraising page. Every dollar makes a difference. CLICK HERE if you can help.

If you'd like to show your support, you can attend the event kick-off at 8 pm this evening (Friday, May 11th) at Trinity Church on Asbury Avenue in Asbury Park. Joe Leone will be there as a guest speaker. Then his employees will sleep out until 7 am tomorrow morning.

Best of luck, and thanks for all that you are doing!
