Heath Ledger’s iconic interpretation of the Joker character from The Dark Knight still remains one of the most popular Halloween Costumes for adults and kids. It’s been nearly 10 years since the release of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight movie. What makes this particular version of the Joker still one of our favorites? Perhaps it’s the brilliant dialogues of one of the most unpredictable supervillains. True fans can easily recite some of the Joker’s classic movie lines: “What doesn’t kill you, simply makes you stranger.” Or maybe it’s the infectious laugh that drove Gotham’s heroes to insanity. Appreciation for the Joker’s animated dark humor and clever one-liners keep it a popular Halloween costume favorite. “Why so serious?!”

You can express your inner superhero at the 4th Annual Super Hero Fun Run this Saturday at the Dorbrook Recreation Area in Colts Neck. The one-mile fun run starts at 9 a.m. This is the perfect start to an entire month of Halloween inspired events at the Jersey Shore. Let’s not forget about the Annual Asbury Park Zombie Walk October 7th at 4 p.m. This year they will include a “blood red” fireworks display as part of the ghoulish event. So, “let’s put a smile on that face” this Halloween and have some fun working on your costume ideas. “And…here…we…go…”
