Another thing to talk to your children about!

Authorities are warning that kids as young as the age of six are landing in the emergency room, drunk, after drinking scented hand sanitizers, like cherry or grape.

According to this story, the Poison Control Center says an alarming number of kids under the age of 12 are swallowing hand sanitizer, which can contain from 45% - 95% alcohol. To put that in perspective, beer contains only about 5% alcohol, and wine about 12% alcohol.

That's why the Poison Control Center says that for a child who swallows just two or three squirts of hand sanitizer, this can mean near-certain alcohol poisoning.

So why are kids doing this? Some to get high, others because they think it smells so good, they don't realize the ramifications.
