Lakewood Shooting Sends Victim to Trauma Center [VIDEO]

A man is hospitalized in critical condition and the suspect is at large following a shooting in Lakewood Thursday night.

According to the Asbury Park Press and the Lakewood Scoop, the incident occurred near the High Point Condominium Complex at Massachusetts and Prospect Avenues.

The Lakewood Police Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Criminalistics Unit (CIU) are investigating. Reports say they cordoned off a large perimeter and brought in powerful overhead lights to collect evidence and locate witnesses after 10 p.m.

The victim was transported to the Jersey Shore Medical Center.
