Liquid Grinch - Cocktail of the Week

Let's get into (out of?) the holiday spirit with a funky green drink reminiscent of one of the most notable Christmas characters!

Liquid Grinch is the perfect shade of Grinchy green, and can be garnished to the extent that your Pinterest-loving heart desires.

I'm a simple gal, just trying to get my holiday drink on, but the more elaborate you go, the more props you'll get from me!

As a bonus, there's a second recipe for this cocktail, the first is fruity and really screams Grinch...the second recipe is more of a creamy, dessert-type drink that you might have to doctor up a bit to get the coloring right.

No matter which one you choose, it'll have the Grinchiest of Grinches feeling festive in no time!

Ingredients:

1.5 oz. white rum
.5 oz banana liqueur
.5 oz blue curacao
3 oz. orange juice
maraschino cherry, to garnish

Combine all ingredients over ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a cherry (or if you have a lot of time, those cute little Grinch grape kebabs!)

Switch it up:

If you're not into banana flavor, any clear or green liqueur will do -- think peach schnapps or melon liqueur (or maybe even creme de cacao?)
Try vodka instead of rum.

Bonus Recipe 2 Ingredients:

1.5 oz coconut rum
.5 oz green creme de menthe
.5 oz creme de cacao
2 oz cream
crushed red sprinkles or sanding sugar, to garnish
green/yellow food coloring, optional

Rim a chilled cocktail glass with crushed sprinkles or sanding sugar. Shake remaining ingredients with ice and strain into rimmed glass. (If it's not Grinch-colored enough, feel free to play with the food coloring to get your desired color.) Garnish with a few more sprinkles on top (or with a Grinch grape kebab!)
