Already charged with allegedly burglarizing two homes and trespassing at another in Hazlet last week, a Little Egg Harbor man faces eight additional burglary counts.

Hazlet police say similar charges may be filed against 27-year old Christopher Kingsbury in Aberdeen, Middletown and Atlantic Highlands who is currently listed as a suspect of interest in the latter towns.

Kingsbury was arrested Friday on various charges after running from police who were there to arrest him for his alleged string of burglaries at homes on Roosevelt Ave, Sixth Street and for trespassing at a home on Windflower Court in Hazlet.

Further investigation by police and an executed search warrant at a room in the Shore Point Inn where Kingsbury was staying tied him to burglaries at homes on Bucknell Drive, Maple Drive, two on Northfield Court, Indian Hill Court and Rutgers Street and tried breaking into homes on Moak Drive and Meadow Court.

In the middle of his getaway attempt police say he fled in a car they tried to pull over but he drove into a cul de sac on Jane Place, turned around and hit three cars including a patrol car before proceeding to drive on a residents lawn.

He then spun away and headed down Crestview Drive, another cul de sac, where police say he drove into a residents backyard and into their swimming pool, all roughly between the hours of 3 am and 5:30 am on Friday.

Kingsbury got out and fled on foot before his arrest and transport to the Monmouth County Jail.

He's charged with two counts of Burglary, two counts of Theft of Motor Vehicle, Criminal Trespass, Theft of Moveable Property, Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Eluding, Hindering Apprehension, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, Resisting Arrest and numerous motor vehicle offenses.

Kingsburg's also charged with Receiving Stolen Property for items in his possession taken from Middletown and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

"We are proud to announce that our Detective Bureau has been working tirelessly to ensure this guy doesn't see daylight for a while," Hazlet Police said in a Facebook post.

Hazlet PD also added, "this investigation couldn't have been as successful without the help of detectives from Atlantic Highlands, Aberdeen, and Middletown who added crucial information. We would like to thank these agencies for their assistance as well as Keyport and Holmdel PD's. Also the cooperation from some of our victims and residents who helped provide important evidence and information."
