The first ever "For Pete's Sake" 5K run will take place tomorrow, May 5, starting at Mallard Park on South Potter in Manasquan, to honor a longtime Manasquan resident.

Peter Gibbs died last September at the age of 56. But Peter's memory lives on with the For Pete's Sake Foundation, set up by his family and friends who hope to raise money for the charities that were near and dear to Peter.

All the proceeds from the run will go toward the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties and The Long Blue Line.

So far over 350 people have signed up to run and organizers have already raised more than $15,000.

The race begins at 10 am. But tonight at the Beach House on E. Main in Manasquan you can meet former NY Giants running back Joe Morris as runners pick up their t-shirts from 6 - 9 pm. For more info or to make a contribution, visit
