They go to work every day, knowing they could be in dangerous situations at any moment. Running into a burning building might be part of a day at the job for first responders in our area, and early yesterday morning it was.

Point Pleasant Beach Patrolman Kyle Boturla arrived at a Washington Ave. home in Point Pleasant Beach early yesterday morning and, according to pointpleasantpatch.com, didn't hesitate to enter the rear of the burning building and save it's 78 year old occupant with the help of Patrolman Chris Mosca in performing first aid.

It's just another example of local first responders putting their own safety aside for the good of someone they probably have never met. And in this case a life was saved. We are so lucky to have these brave people amongst us to keep us safe, and we should never take them for granted. Thanks to all first responders!
