It's so exciting when you find out that some of the films that you may soon see on the big screen were made here at the Jersey Shore, or were made by Jersey Shore production companies!

Joe Krieg and his partners from the Monmouth/Ocean County area have formed a production company and their first film "Sugar" was accepted into the Garden State Film Festival and will be screened in Asbury Park!

Sugar is the story of a group of young people living on the streets seen through the eyes of a tweny year old girl (played by Shenae Grimes of 90210) who suffers from PTSD. Natajja Kinski is also in the film, which will screen locally at the Berkley Hotel in Asbury Park on Saturday, April 6th, at 8 p.m.

Also coming to the film festival is a movie called "West End", the brainchild of Holmdel native Joe Basile, returning home for his directorial debut. Much of this film, which he also wrote, was filmed in Long Branch and Seaside before the hurricane. The screening takes place April 6th at 10 p.m. at the Paramount Theater in Asbury Park.

We hope that these films do so well that we will see them at theatres nationwide. But for now, head on out and support them, see them first and cheer them on!
